I looked away from the horror movie and turned to look towards the back door when I heard a knock. I paused the movie, went out, and looked through the peephole. It's him again...? I slowly opened the door and glanced at the drunk person in the next room.

"Hey, can you help me out a bit?"

"No," I replied immediately, then closed the door without waiting for him to say anything more. He seemed a little taken aback, unable to react. I turned back and continued watching the movie. When I heard the knock again, I put on my headphones to block out the noise.

I really enjoy watching horror movies, especially those with suspense, mystery, or unusual and intriguing storylines, as they give me fresh ideas. However, I don't like movies about kidnapping and torture. I also dislike romantic movies because they're too boring, although action movies are okay.

Right now, I'm watching a horror movie, and I'm completely engrossed in it. North and I often discuss horror movies because he also loves them, even though he's very scared. If you ask me, the way to avoid being scared while watching a horror movie is to research the behind-the-scenes, check the cast list, the makeup, the filming techniques… I've advised North to do that before, but he said he wouldn't be able to feel anything that way.

My way of not being afraid of ghosts is simple: the more you encounter them, the more you'll get used to them. But my grandmother once said that people are afraid of ghosts because they worry ghosts will harm them or try to take them away. If they really want to take you, the simple solution is not to be too good, just be a little bit of a bad person, and then no ghost will dare to bother you.

However, if a ghost wants to harm me, I don't know what to do. The night before, Donut pulled my leg so hard I almost fell out of bed, and then the ghost in the bathroom scratched me. But I'm not sure what happened; it just hurt a little. If it hurts too much, I'll go ask Grandma Phuang Thong. Grandma Phuang Thong is my grandmother.

I continued to stare intently at the ghost in the movie, finding it quite scary, but I doubted it would be so frightening in real life. Or maybe it's because there's no one else in this room that scary? The person in the bathroom seems the scariest because she was murdered. And Donut was also murdered, but I don't count him because he just kept complaining about being hungry and wanting chicken rice.

Oh, speaking of Donut, I forgot it's been a long time since I bought him chicken rice. It's probably been almost a week, right? But never mind, maybe he doesn't want to eat it anymore.

A moment later, my phone next to me buzzed with a Line message notification. I reached for it and saw it was a message from North.

North: hahahahahahaha. Hey...I heard you locked Thit in the bathroom, and then today you closed the door in his face again. Is that right? hahahahahahaha

SS: Why are you laughing so hard...? Did he tell you about it?

North: Not really; he only grumbles when we're playing games together. Why are you so cold? I feel sorry for him. Didn't you hear what he said? He just needs your help with something.

That's interesting. Apparently, Donut wasn't killed by his girlfriend, so he wants your help talking to the ghost in the room. If Donut's girlfriend didn't kill him but ended up in jail, that would be a real shame for her.

SS:? So he asked you to talk to me? Just like the night before.

North: Yes, hahaha. You're interested, that's why you're asking this. Please help him; it might save an innocent person from going to jail.

SS: He didn't give me the details. If only I had known that innocent people would be sent to prison like that. I've been helping for a long time.

North: Well, it's because you slammed the door in his face, isn't it? Just listen to what he has to say for a bit.

SS: Okay, I understand.

North: I want to see you talk to a ghost. Can I come over there?

SS: It's midnight now. But if you want, you can also come and see this hanged ghost.

North: Probably not. Jo won't give it to you.

SS: Absolutely not.

North : *Sends stickers* Want to play games?

The team needs a tank (like you).

SS: I'm watching a movie.

: *Send photo*

That's great.

The main character can see ghosts, so he investigates cases using their abilities.

North: The plot is similar to what we're about to do.

SS: Yeah, that sounds interesting.

I hope this case becomes a big case. After some investigation, it was discovered that the older sister was connected to a drug lord in Hong Kong and was the mastermind behind all of this. Or perhaps they killed Donut for business reasons or some family matter.

SS: North. I'm really interested now. I'm suddenly feeling very excited.

North: ….

Okay, that's good, hahahahaha

Tell me how everything happened later.

SS: Okay.

I put down the phone, a surge of excitement rising within me. I've always been curious about unusual things, things that ordinary people rarely encounter, like the small case I'm helping with this time. Although I might seem lazy and uninterested, I'm actually very interested in anything that can give me new ideas for my work.

New ideas often come when we step outside of our daily routines. I don't sit in my office all day waiting for ideas. When work gets stuck, I go out and do something else. You might not believe it, but I enjoy travelling alone and discovering new things. If I have enough time and money, I'll travel a bit further.

I like mountains and forests, but I don't like the sea because it feels sticky. I drink alcohol and enjoy sipping beer alone. I tried smoking once, but I didn't like the feeling at all. I have a tattoo on my arm of a bamboo tree and a star because my aunt's name is Phai. I also plan to get a white hawk tattoo, because my father's name is Gavin, which means white hawk, and maybe a lotus flower tattoo, in honour of my mother's name.

Oh, and I also want to get a tattoo of a yellow flame tree flower and my grandmother's name. If I get all these tattoos, my arm will probably be completely covered.

The more I got to know North, the more he said that you can't judge a book by its cover. He was absolutely right, and I don't care what others think of me. I do what I want. Thinking back, maybe in my next life I'll be a bacterium, and if I were a bacterium, I wouldn't be able to do these things. So, I decided to do everything I want in this life.

I studied science, and although my main job is freelance drawing, editing, and design, I'm still genuinely passionate about science. My mother doesn't object to my drawing, but she advised me to learn other skills because drawing isn't a stable job. She said that if I wanted to study science, I'd have to go to school, while drawing could be taught on my own. Because I really liked biology, I eventually decided to study biological sciences, and I find it very interesting.

I try doing things I don't like, and sometimes I discover new things. For example, I used to dislike sports, but during my last vacation, I tried Taekwondo and realised it wasn't so bad. I think I should learn how to defend myself in case of unexpected situations. Although I don't like the beach, I've been to many beautiful beaches and haven't changed my preference. I also don't like spices, but I've been a regular at an Indian restaurant for almost a month, even though I don't like the food. I don't know why I went there, but the owner, Mr Abang, recognised me and thought we were close friends.

Speaking of things I dislike, I also try watching genres I don't like, like romantic movies. Actually, they're quite boring; sitting in one place for an hour with nothing but dullness. But I still watch them, and if a new movie comes out, I'll keep going to the theatre. Yeah, I don't understand myself either.

I continued watching the movie, and when I realised it was past midnight, I took off the necklace. The same unsettling feeling returned, but this time I didn't see the figure of the hanged man on the balcony as usual. I turned to look at Donut, who was sitting on the bed.

"Dao, stay away from the bathroom. Cream is going crazy."

I ignored Mr Donut's warning and walked straight into the bathroom. The Ms Cream Mr Donut was talking about was probably the one near the bathtub. She was the only person in the room I felt uncomfortable with, probably because she had been brutally murdered. That was probably why she felt so much hatred and resentment.

As I stepped into the bathroom, the door slammed shut instantly, the lights flickering on and off. A figure appeared beside the bathtub before the room's light faded, like an old light bulb that no longer provided enough illumination. She had long, wet hair, her back turned, and she began to sing slowly, sadly.

I'm still wondering about the cut on her neck; how could she still speak? Or was it just an echo in my head?

"You sang it off-key."

“…”

“That part should be sung as ‘Why did you…’”

Before I could finish speaking, the figure in front of me slowly turned to look at me. Her face was pale, but there was a deep cut on her neck, and blood was still flowing profusely. She smiled, and the gash at the corner of her mouth made the smile seem to stretch even longer. How cheerful you look, you're smiling so brightly.

'Aren't you afraid?'

"Are not."

'Do you want…to be together?'

"Are not."

"Why...Why... *sobbing*, why don't you want to be with me? Why do you have to be with someone else? Why did you kill me?" The screams of the soul before me began to become frantic. I recoiled at the ear-piercing shriek, so loud it felt like glass could shatter.

"It hurts my ears to listen to it."

"Grrrrr…"

“I… Aaaah! My ears hurt so much!” I covered my ears, unable to bear the sudden intensity of the sound. I’ve been to many K-pop concerts before, and the screaming was always the same. Before she died, she must have been a huge K-pop fan.

'How… would you know?'

"Huh?"

'Are you a fan too?'

"Oh, so you're a fan too? Which group do you like?"

"I'm not a die-hard fan, but I do follow some groups. Which group do you like? Let me give it a listen too."

I chatted with Cream in the bathroom for a while about K-pop groups. But… What is this? I wondered to myself, what's going on? She's a vengeful ghost, yet she's so calm just talking about a Korean group? She said she really liked a group, but after she died, she couldn't follow or hear anything about them anymore because she was stuck here and couldn't get out. I had to go online to find out about the group and then tell Cream about it.

After leaving the bathroom, I sat down next to Mr Donut.

'Has she finally calmed down?'

"YES."

'How can we calm her down? When Cream gets angry, it's really scary.'

"Everyone has exceptions," I said, sighing softly. Remembering I needed to talk to the person who had hanged herself, I stepped out onto the balcony again, but saw no one.

"Cream, where is the person who hanged herself?"

"I don't know, I didn't see it."

"So, did Cream know about Donut being murdered? That night?"

'I don't know where Donut went, but she's only angry for a little while.'

"It's your fault that you cut his neck. When did Donut get standing next to you?"

"Like this?" Cream pretended to pull at her neck. It wouldn't break at first, but because of the pre-existing cut, it snapped when pulled hard.

'Aaahhh!' Mr Donut quickly closed his eyes. 'What the heck? A ghost and you're afraid of ghosts? Huhu, where is it? My love, I'm so scared, save me’

"I love you so much, my wife. I love you so much that even ghosts like us get jealous."

"Cream, stop joking around."

I, being able to see the two ghosts teasing each other, seized the opportunity to interject: "Does Cream know about the day Donut was murdered?"

"How could she have seen it while she was in the bathroom? Ask Prow."

"Yes." I nodded slightly and returned to my desk. I sighed a little as I thought about what had happened today. It felt like I had spoken too casually. When she mentioned Prow, she was probably referring to the person who jumped at two in the morning, and the person who hanged themselves was no longer there.

I waited until two o'clock in the morning and then went outside to wait for Mrs Prow on the balcony. At two thirteen, the balcony door opened and the figure of the woman I had seen before appeared. She looked exactly the same as before. She was crying and stepped out, stopping right in front of the balcony. I stepped forward to stop her.

"Wait... wait a moment, let me ask you a question."

She didn't answer, just slowly turned to look at me. We looked at each other before she paused for a moment.

"On that night, when Mr. Donut was killed, did you see anything?"

She didn't answer.

"Did you see anyone else enter the room?"

She nodded slowly, which made me even more excited.

"Someone else killed Mr Donut, right?"

She nodded again.

"Who is it?"

'Don't know.'

Yeah, that's right, how would I know?

"Could you give me a general description of that person?"

'As a woman, with short hair and a black dress… You go first.'

“Oh, okay, okay. I’ll come back and ask later, excuse me.” I bowed slightly. She nodded again and jumped down from the balcony. I went back into the room; I had received information that the person who killed Mr Donut was someone else, but it was still unknown. Mr Donut seemed pleased to hear that.

'I must have seen the news in Thit's dream. Maybe Dao should go tell him about it.'

"No, I'm not going anywhere. Please help me out."

'Okay.' Mr Donut nodded slightly.

I woke from my drowsiness when I felt someone sitting next to me. There he goes again, disturbing me while I'm sleeping. I turned away, pretending not to notice because I was too sleepy. But suddenly, that guy grabbed my arm, forcing me to turn back around. Are you ignoring me?

"You're in my dream, huh? What's going on now?"

'Min didn't kill me,' the ghost in the room said.

"You're a ghost in the room too."

'Yes, Dao went to ask.'

"Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Why don't you ask yourself?"

"I'm scared, friend."

"Useless guy."

'Go tell him, the witness said it was a woman with short hair, wearing a black dress,'

"Sigh, okay, let me sleep."

'Remember to tell him that I miss my wife so much, that I cry looking for her every day, and that I can't sleep without hugging her.'

"I feel like throwing up, yeah."

"Yeah, Thit, the ghost in the bathroom that you threatened to open the door for is here."

"Yes, why?"

'She asked me to tell you to just come, she's ready, she's always waiting in the restroom.'

"Damn it."

I drove to the prison parking lot, thinking about last night when Donut appeared in my dream. He said the ghost in the room told him Min wasn't the killer. He even brought me information from the ghost in the bathroom.

There's only one word to describe it: awful. Absolutely awful. I don't know how many more people like Min I'll encounter; they're not normal people at all.

Min walked over and sat in front of the mirror as usual, but strangely, her face had wounds, and her lips and eyebrows were torn. I immediately raised my eyebrows and looked at her.

"Are you making things up?"

"Just a little bit."

"Just a little bit? What do you mean?"

"Last night, that big girl in prison picked a fight with me."

"Huh?"

"Things are normal here. I try not to cause trouble, and I don't join any groups. But it's precisely because I don't belong to any group that they pick fights with me."

"So what then?"

"I don't know, but I've already sent the troublemaker to the hospital."

"You bitch, really?"

"Yeah, of all people to pick a fight with, you pick a fight with this bitch. Damn it, one slap and the silicone would fall off. I'm the number one slapper. After this volleyball tournament, I've slapped everyone in the school."

"Slapping someone?"

"I play volleyball, you bastard, I win the championship every year."

"So, you actually sent that big girl to the hospital, and she's okay?"

"I don't know, maybe it's my first time, so I won't get punished. But I already have plans to build my career here."

"What does that mean?"

"I'll take over as the gang leader from him. See? It's so much more comfortable, no more worrying about trouble. I'll form a new group and become the queen bee in prison."

“…”

I didn’t know what else to say to this girl, “Yeah, that makes sense, if you can say it, you can do it.”

"Of course, now it's mine."

"Oh, right, Conan from the next room asked for me, and he said the ghost in the room said you weren't the one who killed him."

"See?" The boy slammed his hand on the table so hard that the guard turned to look. He turned and gave the guard a forced smile, "Nothing, just having fun."

"Tell me a girl came into your room that day, with short hair and a black shirt."

"Who is it? Which bitch killed my husband and then blamed me? I'm furious. Go find out, Thit, who is that short-haired whore? How short is it?"

"I didn't know, so I didn't ask that many questions."

"What, is it shoulder-length or ear-length?"

"Are you thinking of anyone?"

"In short hair, there's Ming, Olin, my sister also has short hair, the rest all have long hair, my mom has long hair, Donut's mom also has long hair."

"Three people?"

"Yes," Min nodded.

"But that day, you were drunk and went back to your room, right?"

"Yes, why?"

"Did you lock the door?"

"Oh no." He looked a little pale. "I don't know, maybe I forgot to lock it."

"See, I'm using my smart brain to think this through, maybe you really did forget to lock it."

"Really? Did you make that up yourself?"

"I asked Fah for his opinion."

"You idiot, what then?"

"Fah asked if you locked the door, so how could someone without a spare key get in?" I said, because I had told Fah about this this morning.

"I don't know, I was too drunk, I can't remember."

"So, regarding the short hair, could it be a wig? Or maybe it's just hair tied back?"

"Hey, you're really smart."

"Fah said the same thing."

"There, got it?" He sighed deeply. "Don't rely on anyone else. Call Fah to come visit me, and you get lost, you useless piece of trash."

"If I stop helping you, you'll definitely end up as a gangster in prison for the rest of your life, Min."

"Just kidding, don't take it so seriously. Do you want me to pinch your testicles?"

"That threat of yours, you really are... I've never had my testicles pinched, but I think it must have been unbearably painful."

"Yeah, my husband said it hurts too." I burst out laughing at her comment. Hey, why did you pinch his testicles like that?

"Yeah, he said he missed you, couldn't sleep, and was crying while calling out 'my beloved wife'."

"Really? Yes, that's right, he was always so clingy, even after death, he stayed in that room. I wondered how he would survive without me."

She sighed again, looking weary.

"Tell him to just bear with it a little longer, wait for me to come back, and then I'll hug him."

"Damn, how did I end up being the one to receive affections?"

"Well, you're the only one who can keep in touch between us, you idiot."

"Where would I hug him? He's dead."

"Thit, you've completely ruined my mood."

"So what do we do now? It's hard to go on living like this, after loving Donut for so long."

"I don't know," he said, making a dejected face. "It's not like in the novels, where Donut isn't dead but is a sleeping princess who wakes up."

"Well, that's just unacceptable. I stood there watching his body being burned right in front of me, and I even got to see his face before they cremated him."

"Sigh, damn it, that's really depressing."

"Yeah, that's right."

"You sound like you understand everything."

"I understand, but never mind, at least it's still there, and we can still talk to each other."

"Did you touch anything of mine?"

"Yeah, never mind." I brushed aside the heavy thoughts in my mind and turned back to the main issue, "So what do we do next? We've already asked the ghost, and that's all the information we have."

"There are several of them. Have you asked them all?"

"Probably."

"Damn it, those useless people. I thought doing them a favour would teach them a lot, but now what? Anyway, there's no evidence to prosecute them."

"Right."

"Damn, this is so annoying, the wound hurts too, damn it, is my nose crooked or something?"

"What's up?"

"Go ahead and ask."

"Are not."

"I thought the silicone implants were crooked, it hurt like hell, and I wasted a fortune on them," Min said, grimacing and muttering while gently pinching her nose. "Yeah, I think my breasts hurt too."

"What's up?"

"It hurt like hell when I fought that thing. Should I take it out?"

"Silicone in the breasts?"

"YES."

"What's left after you've taken it out, Min? Besides your big breasts, there's nothing interesting left."

"Oh, Thit, how do you know that besides big breasts, there's nothing else good about her? Have you tried it?"

"We'll have to try it to find out."

"That's what you said, now that I'm out, don't try to hide from me."

"Why am I, a man, getting harassed like this?"

I frowned and sighed. They keep joking like this, but I've never really won. "Are you planning on getting a new husband? Donut's dead anyway."

"I don't know, I can't imagine myself being with someone else, you know? I keep imagining myself with him, having a wedding like a child, wearing a wedding dress, raising children with him… Damn, why are you asking me that?"

Then it started crying. I was a little surprised to see it cry in front of other people. It wiped away its tears, but more started flowing.

"Go ahead and cry, it's okay, I'm not kidding. And why would I cry? Donut, that idiot, why did he leave me? If he left, there would be someone else, but leaving to die would be truly hateful. He's so ugly, he needs me to give him the signal to pursue me first. How am I supposed to live like this, you stupid fool?"

"Who is that idiot?"

"It's you."

"I don't quite understand it, but I feel a strange kind of pain."

"Yeah, go die, go die with Donut. You came here and made me cry again. My wounds hurt, and the silicone in my breasts hurts too."

"Oh, Min, you really are..."

"My life is so unlucky. Oh well, you can't do anything about it anyway."

"I'll do my best."

"Pretending to be a good person, huh? Look at me, I'm just the same kind of person." She cursed, then tried to smile, even though tears still welled up in her eyes.

"Then let me see it?"

"Be careful not to get sucked in there."

"Is she a black hole?" I teased, then continued talking to her until she gradually calmed down. Normally, she never shows it, but once we became close friends, I realised that even though she's a strong girl on the outside, she still has very vulnerable points. She's always talkative and constantly complaining, but if you ask her if she's strong, she says yes, but she can't always handle it.

For some reason, looking at her, I felt like I was looking at myself. The only problem is, I've never cried. Just thinking about it is enough to make me want to die.

"I'm leaving now. I'll let you know if anything happens."

"Yes, yes."

"Yeah, don't go around picking fights with people too much. Be careful, it might get damaged, and you'll have to get it redone."

"Okay, let me take those fake breasts out first."

"I'll take everything if you do that."

"This is incredibly annoying."

════[changbins_delulu_wife]════

I stood in a place I'd never been before, silently repeating Min's name in my head once more before speaking to the manager in front of me. He told me to wait in front of the mirror.

After receiving information from Praw that day, the drunk man in the room had named three suspicious individuals. I gathered more information by asking other staff members and conducting further investigation myself. Not knowing what the drunk man might do next, and having not seen him return to the room for several days, I decided to go see Min in person. Because I thought I had already identified the culprit.

"Oh?" The woman, dressed in a grey prisoner's uniform, had a beautiful, Western-looking face and sharp eyes. Even without makeup, she was undeniably beautiful. She had many tattoos on her arms. "I thought it was Thit. Who is this?"

"Yes, my name is Daotok."

"?"

"It's a boy," I explained, seeing her look confused. The person in front of me nodded slightly, as if they understood.

"Oh, what's the matter? Did you come to visit the right person? I don't think I know you."

"I'm the one who used to be your roommate."

"Ah, ah, the room next to Thit's, right?"

"Yes, that's right." I nodded.

"Is that you, the one who talks to ghosts?"

"Yes, that's right."

"Oh my God, what's going on? Why did Thit suddenly disappear? Where did he go?"

"I don't know either, but I think I've figured out who the culprit is."

"Who is it?"

"That's Olin, my friend."

"Olin? Why do you think it's her? She's so kind."

"Actually, she likes Donut."

"Huh?"

"Yes, Mr Donut didn't tell me because he was afraid of causing a conflict. And he didn't think that someone he knew would be his killer. But when I mentioned that the person had short hair, and Olin also had short hair, Mr Donut told me about it. But Mr Donut doesn't remember the details of the night the crime happened."

"Really? She likes donut?"

"Yes, I heard she confessed her feelings once, but Donut rejected her. She also frequently came to talk to Donut, but nobody paid any attention."

"Well, this girl dares to flirt with my husband? I thought she was innocent, but what happened next?"

"I checked the security camera footage from a nearby building and got the picture; it's definitely Olin. It seems like she didn't have any serious plans; maybe it was just a moment of impulsiveness."

“…”

"Because when I… um, watched her, she seemed anxious the whole time. Ah, this might sound a bit harsh, but…"

"Go ahead and speak."

"I can read other people's emotions. I secretly read her heart, and it was full of guilt, sadness, self-disappointment, and fear."

"Yeah, I understand. So what do we do now? I trust you, but how can I get out of prison?"

"I guess Olin will turn herself in."

"Huh? Really?"

"Yes, because her conscience is tormenting her, and she might not be able to endure it for much longer. If we provoke her even a little, she'll probably be terrified."

════[changbins_delulu_wife]════

"Why did you kill Donut?"

"Sob... Huhu, Thit, please don't yell at me anymore."

"I'm asking you why you killed my friend!!" I roared, yelling angrily at the girl in front of me.

It wasn't that I was angry because she killed Donut. It was because I hadn't slept for days, my head was spinning, and it took me days to find time to investigate Min. I had to run to Fah's room to sleep on the sofa because I ran out of spare key cards, and the manager said there were no more, and I couldn't even get into my own room. It was so frustrating; my back ached from sleeping on the sofa for days.

"Huhu, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, *sobbing*, please forgive me."

"Go apologise to that girl! She's the one who's in jail in your place! She got beaten up in prison so badly her breast implants are ruined!!"

"Ughh… Huhu…"

"Stop crying, you bitch!"

“Huhu… Thit, huhu… I… I…”

“Oh my god, you really are… Come on! Come with me to the police station!” I grabbed the short-haired girl’s hand. Look at me right now,

I look like a complete jerk. I even broke into her room. For the past few days, I’ve been spending my free time after returning from the hospital monitoring Olin, Ming’s friend. After confirming that this was the person I was looking for, thanks to the security camera footage from the building next door, I realised that Olin didn’t intend to kill anyone from the start; maybe she just came to see him, and it happened unintentionally.

The police didn't investigate further, probably because everything pointed to her from the start, as she herself had said. She's stupid; she doesn't know how to refute anything. But even if the police checked the security cameras from the building next door, they would only see a woman with short hair going in.

We found out about it from a spirit. I don't want to bother looking for more evidence; it's too much trouble. Just drag her to confess, because Olin seems very remorseful already.

"Huhu, Thit... I'm sorry... I'll apologise... apologise to her. I'm really regretful, I didn't mean to."

"Then go, what are you standing there for?"

"I... it hurts so much..."

"Yeah, Min is hurting even more than you. Let's go!" I dragged the little girl along, shoved her into the car, and drove straight to the jail so she could apologise to Min. As I parked, I saw the kid from the next cell standing nearby, having just put on his helmet.

What is it doing here?

After putting on his helmet, he sped away. I turned to look at Olin; she was still sitting there crying. Without hesitation, I pulled her along to meet our friend.

"How did it go?" I asked after letting Olin go in to talk to her friend. She still looked sullen.

"That dog! If it weren't for this glass, Olin would have been dead to me. When she was sitting there crying and apologising, I just wanted to rush in and deal with her right away."

"What did she say?"

"She said she'd liked Donut for a long time. But Donut is mine! That night, she just stopped by to borrow something, using a spare key to get into the room. She saw us sleeping, and because she liked Donut, she sat there watching him sleep."

"Yeah."

“Then she kissed Donut. Donut thought it was me, so he kissed her back. Olin took advantage of the situation, and the two of them kept cuddling, almost… When Donut fully woke up and realised it was Olin, he panicked and pushed her away, and then they had a big argument.”

"Ah."

“Lin had taken off all her clothes, you understand? Donut was sitting on the bed at the time, probably caught off guard and unable to react. Olin said she was a bit drunk and angry, thinking erratically, so she grabbed a knife and stabbed him.”

"Really? Stabbing her while she's naked?"

"Yeah, but is that really that important?"

"There's a good side to it, too, at least Donut got to see breasts one last time."

"Oh my God, that guy! Because he wasn't wearing any clothes, they didn't get stained with blood. He briefly wiped them off, put them back on, took the bloodstained cloth, put it in his pocket, and disposed of it. Then she even staged the scene to frame someone else. Coincidentally, I was drunk too, so the police caught me too easily."

"Understood. So, is she going to confess to the police now?"

"He said that after committing the crime, he couldn't sleep peacefully for a single night, and only now dares to confess. But it took him months to decide; I almost became the gang leader here."

"Well, at least she's remorseful."

"How did you know it was him? The kid from the next room just came here, saying he hadn't seen you in the room for several days and didn't know how to tell you this, so he came to see me."

"I lost my room key card, and the management said they've run out of spares. I've lost so many, they told me to find somewhere else to sleep."

"What kind of management is this? It's like robbery! I'm speechless!"

"So I've had to stay at Fah's room, sleeping on the sofa for the past few days."

"Damn it! But wait, haven't you and the kid next door been investigating together these past few days?"

"No. What do you mean by 'investigating together'? Is he investigating, too?"

"I just told you, he just came and told me Olin is the culprit, and then you brought Olin here too. So you two investigated separately but ended up finding the culprit together? You didn't even cross paths during the investigation?"

"No, I was already following Olin."

"You're both following the same person, so why can't you run into each other? You and that guy really have a knack for avoiding each other."

"Never mind. What do we do now?"

"Take Olin to the police station, don't let her escape."

"She can't escape. I recorded him confessing."

"That's pretty good, now I see you're really like a doctor."

"Fah told me to do it."

"Idiot! Just take it to the police; they'll handle everything. If it's nothing serious, I'll probably be released soon, too."

"Okay, I'm really craving a drink too."

"Yeah, I'll treat you both later, and Dao too; she tried her best to help," the girl said.

"Congratulations, you're finally out. The culprit has paid the price."

"YES."

"Hey, Olin, you're about to get your 'greeting' in prison. I told my younger brother in there to make your life miserable. Killing my husband wasn't enough; now you're framing me too. You're not going to get away with this!"

"If Olin can adapt as well as you do, I'd really admire him."

"Nobody can do what I do, honestly. Hey Thit, is your old apartment still vacant?"

"The whole floor is empty, you bitch!"

"I'm moving back to my old room. Dao is still there, right? Then I'll take the room opposite, and go back to being myself."

"Yes, welcome back."
