OOPS! MYSTERIOUS SOUNDS: BOOK 2.

Special voice number 4

[Phodduang]

"Brake! Brake!"

"Hold onto my waist tightly, Phodduang."

"Brake, you bastard! Brake!"

"Don't take me off the road!" I yelled loudly, my hands tightly gripping my lover's waist, because Jin was forcing the bicycle downhill. As we descended, I felt a sudden emptiness and a churning in my stomach. I screamed and buried my head against its back, unlike the person controlling the handlebars, who just burst into laughter. The bike was speeding along the dirt road, kicking up red dust everywhere.

The thing is, it's school break, so Jin invited me along. We came to visit my hometown in the countryside; the air is so nice here. By the time we arrived yesterday, it was almost evening. Beam and Thiw, who came back with us, went their separate ways to rest. Jin's house is a two-and-a-half-story house, half wood and half concrete. The area around the house looks very clean, even though no one lives there. Next door is Beam's house, where he lives with his aunt. As for Thiw, He was living at the temple with the abbot.

The next morning, Jin woke me up before dawn so we could go to the temple to make merit. So I got up to help him cook. I have to admit, Jin is a good cook, probably because he's been taking care of himself since he was a child. After that, it took me on its bike to the temple, which was almost a kilometre from its house and consisted of a mix of dirt roads and paved roads.

The nature and atmosphere are amazing. Even though it's not winter, it's still chilly in the mornings, so I needed to put on a jacket. Jin slowly slowed down the bike and turned into a temple. Today was a Buddhist holy day, so we saw villagers coming to make merit early in the morning.

"Oh, Jin, you're coming home, son?"

The old people there greeted him when Jin walked in to say hello.

"Yes, Auntie."

"Haven't seen you in a while, you've gotten so much more handsome! And who's this? A friend, huh?" The old woman turned and smiled at me.

"No, this is..." I quickly covered its mouth with my hand.

"Friend, friend." I quickly replied, and the aunties nodded slightly. As the group of aunties went into the pavilion, Jin immediately turned to look at me.

"Why"

"Not everyone will accept that, Jin."

"But I'm not your friend."

"Oh, Jin!" I said with a smile. "I don't want to hide our relationship from anyone."

"We don't need anyone else to know about our relationship. It's enough that it's just between you and me."

"What do you know?"

I sighed deeply.

"If you don't know, that's your problem."

It grabbed my arm.

"Jin, this is a temple."

"Is it not allowed to hold hands in a temple? We're not doing anything inappropriate."

I made a face at it.

"Phod Duang"

"what"

"Right?"

"As I said before, even if the outside world isn't kind to us, we can choose a world where we can be ourselves," he looked me straight in the face, "you can trust the world I'm in."

"Mmm."

Finally, I gave in and took his hand, walking into the pavilion. The group of older women we'd talked to earlier turned to look at us, but Jin still wouldn't give in. We didn't let go of each other's hands. The group frowned slightly before giving us a gentle smile. Soon after, more villagers started arriving. I saw Beam carrying a basket with his aunt, so I respectfully greeted the aunt that Beam often mentioned. She smiled at me, looking kind. Meanwhile, Jin was called away by someone, so I sat and waited nearby.

"Let's put the food on plates and offer it to the monks."

Beam nudged my shoulder, so I walked over to where the villagers were preparing food to offer to the monks. Each person brought food they had prepared at home and placed it in their offering tray. The dishes were then placed together on the serving tray, separated into savoury dishes, desserts, and fruits. At that time, I saw Thiw already helping to prepare the monks' food.

"Once we're done, let's go ambush the badminton court."

"Mmm."

I carefully held the rice pot with one hand, while using the other hand to scoop rice into the alms bowl. I was slightly startled when Jin stood behind me, clasping his hands over my wrists. His hand seemed to be helping to scoop rice into the bowl.

"Jin"

"I'm also making offerings to the monks."

"Let me set the trap first, then you can scoop it up."

"Let's scoop the alms together. There's a long line of villagers waiting to offer alms."

I was speechless. Looking over its shoulder, I saw four or five villagers lining up to offer alms to the monks. So I bowed my head and silently offered alms with my hands.

This temple has a senior monk, two other monks, and one novice. Everything is very simple. After the prayers, food is offered to the monks, and then water is poured as a symbolic offering. Jin led me to a large tree to pour water, then to a clean, white urn containing ashes by the temple wall. I watched him squat down, light incense and candles, and change the water and flowers in the pot.

"My mother's last home," Jin said with a smile, which made me glance at the picture hanging above the urn. It was the image of a woman with a sweet smile. Those eyes looked like Jin's. She must have been incredibly beautiful when she was young.

"Her eyes are just like yours."

"Only the eyes are similar."

Yes, because other aspects of Jin are like his wealthy father. He has a handsome face and a charming demeanour, and although he says he doesn't want to be like his father, he denies it.

It's not that it resembles its father more than its mother.

I lit the incense sticks and paid my respects to the Buddha before placing them in the incense burner.

"Mom, I've brought your daughter-in-law to pay his respects to you today."

"Hoy!" I glared at him while Jin smirked.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm telling the truth."

"You...!"

"Shhh, don't scold her son in front of his mother."

I immediately made a face at it.

"Your mother knows how disobedient her son is. She understands why I have to scold you." I turned and bowed to his mother's picture, saying, "I apologise, Mother. Your son really deserves a spanking!"

Jin laughed heartily.

"Wow, they only met once, and they're already getting along so well!"

"Jin"

I looked left and right, feeling a chill down my spine. It reminded me that my lover had a special sense—it wasn't that he could hear strange noises, was it?

"Nothing."

"Are you sure?"

"Mom just said you're cute."

I jumped in fright and immediately moved closer to it.

"Youuuuu"

"I'm kidding," Jin chuckled softly. "My mother passed away a long time ago. She's probably been reborn by now."

"You bastard." I punched it in the chest, and then we walked away from the area.

"I meant to say you're cute."

"It's not my mother. But the uncles and aunts around here say," Jin said with a smile, "that you're cute."

I stopped in my tracks and turned back to look at the rows of columbaria. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew, causing the vines to stand upright.

"That Jin"

That's all. I can't stay here any longer.

After that, we returned to the pavilion. The abbot called us to his quarters. After I bowed to him, I sat quietly, watching Jin and his friends help arrange a tray with personal belongings.

"Luang Da, please have a sip of water."

"Thank you, son." He replied in a gentle voice, his eyes, which were beginning to dim, narrowing as if he were smiling.

"And who is that?" He turned to me and beckoned me closer. The monk was elderly, but still appeared energetic and inspiring.

"Venerable Monk,"

"Hey, Jin."

"This is my boyfriend."

He was silent for a moment before a slight smile appeared on his face. I sat there stunned, but I reluctantly crawled on my knees after Jin and sat down in front of him.

"Come closer, my child. Luang Da will tie the sacred thread for you." I bowed and extended my arm forward.

"Even I, your disciple, wouldn't understand these things. But since you love each other, take good care of each other. Forgive each other for minor mistakes," he said, tying a sacred thread around their arms.

"Jin, you too, my dear. You've grown up so much. Be mindful of what you do, and take good care of each other."

"Yes, Venerable Monk."

"Remember, Jin, kindness will protect you from everything. On days when things don't go as planned, don't refrain from doing good, and never harm others, child"

He reached out, patted Jin's head, and blessed

us. I'm not surprised at all that Jin and his friends have grown up so well, despite lacking opportunities and resources. They have the necessities, but they've also grown up well because they've been well-instilled with good values.

That day, after returning from the temple, Jin and I cleaned the house together. Because we were tired and the weather was quite cool, I accidentally fell asleep in the afternoon. I love the smell of freshly laundered mattresses drying in the sun until they have a faint, pleasant scent. It makes me want to lie down and not wake up. I only wake up when Jin stirs around as if he's uncomfortable in bed.

I woke up first and turned to look at my lover, who was lying next to me. That's when I realized I had my head resting on his arm. He must have been tired, so I quickly moved.

He immediately moved away.

"Sorry, your arm must be really tired."

"never mind"

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You're sleeping soundly, drooling, having sweet dreams, so I didn't dare wake you."

"Xie", I quickly pursed my lips to check if saliva was really dripping out, amidst its laughter.

"I'm kidding."

"You..."

I lightly patted his chest. He grabbed the hand that had assaulted him, kissed it, and immediately held my hand.

"Did you sleep well and have sweet dreams? I saw you smiling in your sleep."

I nodded.

"The air at your house is so nice."

"This is the countryside."

"Wow, even though it's not winter, it's still so cool in the afternoon. The locals here are so kind."

"Would you like to come and stay with me here?"

I immediately looked up at it.

"Have you asked their parents for permission before inviting them to live with you?"

"That's right, your parents are going back to Thailand next month, aren't they?"

"Who said I'd let you meet my parents?" I was teasing it.

"Do you want a flight to get married?"

"crazy" I bared my fangs at it.

"I'm asking you seriously, do you want to come live with me?"

"You already know the answer." I mumbled a response, my voice barely audible.

"I want to hear it with my own ears."

"Mmm."

"Hmm, what?"

"I want to stay," I replied softly as it stroked my back.

"I dream that when I save up enough money, I'll come back and start a small garden, planting rice on two or three acres for my own consumption. In my later years, I want you to be with me."

"What the hell? Are you inviting me to be your gardener?" He chuckled softly.

"No, I'm inviting you to come and live a life of hardship, where you'll be the boss and just collect the money."

"Is it too late to break up now?"

"Too late," it said, chuckling. "And they wouldn't let me quit."

"That's a total corner!" I spoke softly, tilting my face against its chest. I couldn't help but feel good, for I was always a part of its dreams. It felt so good, a feeling I couldn't describe.

"Thank you"

"What's the matter?"

"I'm in your dream too."

"Of course," it chuckled softly. "If I brought other people into my dreams, I'd be dead."

"Jin, I was having such a touching moment," I glared at him. "Or do you have someone else?"

"Things are getting out of hand."

"Don't let them know."

"I don't know."

I'll glare at it in a minute.

"You should tell me you're single, then I'll be at ease."

"People are strange. They don't believe the truth, but they believe exaggerations wholeheartedly."

"How about becoming a monk?"

"I've been a monk before," he said with a smile. "All that's left is getting married."

"How so?"

"After becoming a monk, you can get married."

"Wait," I said, my face showing surprise as he moved to sit astride me. "Jin."

Both hands pushed against his chest as his handsome face leaned closer and pressed kisses on both of his cheeks.

"In broad daylight, Jin."

"Is there a rule against having sex during the day?"

"I'm embarrassed. The sky is still light."

That Jin is incredibly fast. He didn't listen at all. In the end, I was lying naked beneath him.

"Jin"

"yes"

"I hate you."

Its eyes sparkled with a smile.

"Please give it to me."

"If you don't give it to me, I'll keep begging you like this all day."

"Very bad"

He cursed, but in the end, he reluctantly moved aside, shifting his leg to allow the other person to move in between them.

"Their words don't match their feelings."

"But your legs are the same height as mine."

"Get out!" I immediately pouted at it in embarrassment.

"At this point, there's no going out, only going in."

"It's painful."

"Gently", Jin chuckled softly and affectionately kissed my temple.

"Does it hurt?"

"Mmm."

"Do you want to have it removed?"

"You bastard."

"Quickly"

I punched him hard in the face, right when he thrust in with all his might.

"You bastard!"

"....”

"Now that you're here, do your job properly!"

"That's all." Jin chuckled heartily before concentrating on "doing his duty" until I was breathless with exhaustion.

"enough"

"..."

"You've gone beyond your authority."

"Maybe my boss will give me a raise."

"I'm firing you!" I yelled. "Get out of this position!"

"Go be stupid."

"....”

"Riding my master is my speciality."

"I hate you."

I almost wanted to yank his head off, but all I had left was to glare at my lover, who leaned his face close and immediately pressed a kiss to my lips.

"But I love you so much, my dear."
