Billionaire Biker Boy

Chapter 5. Extra Income.

The person with a sandwich stuck in his throat couldn't say anything except nod repeatedly. Who would dare refuse the building's owner a seat? Samut quickly raised his cold cocoa to take a sip. Once his throat was clear, he began to speak.

"M-Mr Vice President... This morning, I really must apologise. I saw the vest with the number eight on it, so I jumped to conclusions. Haha." He then smiled apologetically.

"People who don't know better aren't at fault," the vice president replied, feigning a stern expression. Though inwardly, he felt a bit deflated in terms of his fashion sense. The man in front of him had mistaken his branded vest, with a prominent 'B' logo on the back, for the number eight on a motorbike taxi vest from Silom. If the brand's owner knew about this, they'd probably launch a major rebranding effort.

...Or was it just that I didn't exude wealth?

In the end, the man with a fashionable but not wealthy aura brushed off the troubling thought and tried to gather more information about the person before him.

"Is today your first day at work?"

"Yes, sir. That's why I came in early. I promise to work hard, no slacking, no skipping work, no leaving early, and no taking advantage of my colleagues," the aspiring employee vowed.

The employer chuckled softly. That smile transformed his usually stern face into something oddly captivating, drawing whispers and curious glances from everyone in the canteen.

"So, where do you live?" the employer continued his casual interrogation.

"My home is in Hat Yai, but in Bangkok, I stay at a condo near Khlong Toei."

"Do you have any siblings?"

The way Wonchana asked, so casually, like a friend wanting to get to know someone, made the one being questioned feel more at ease.

Samut answered confidently, "I have one older brother. His name is Chonlatee, which means the sea. He's just the sea, while I'm Samut, which means the ocean. He's eight years older than me, so he's like a second father to me since my real dad passed away when I was young. Now, it's just the three of us at home: Mom, my brother, and me. We have some relatives, but they live in different places, and we only gather occasionally."

"Why did you decide to work in Bangkok?"

"A friend from university works here, but I also wanted to try gaining new experiences," the new employee quickly clarified, worried that his employer might think he lacked passion for the job. The employer raised an eyebrow... A friend?

...The one he's supposedly chasing after?

But instead of pursuing that thought, Wonchana asked one last question, "New experiences like being a host at a gay bar?"

The would-be gay bar host's face turned beet red. The petite man lowered his head so fast it was as if he was about to smash his forehead onto the table like in a Chinese drama... if not for the growing number of onlookers.

"Mr Vice President, please don't take my words seriously. I only said that to get under my brother's skin. I wouldn't actually do something like that... Well, I kind of want to visit one someday, but I need to save money first," he mumbled the last part to himself.

But Wonchana heard it anyway. The man smirked slightly.

"I know a couple of good places. Want me to take you?"

Samut looked up with wide eyes. "Take me where?"

"To a gay bar, of course."

The man who had just expressed a desire to visit a gay bar stammered, "M-Mr Vice President... are you... one of them?"

"And why would that be strange?" Wonchana raised an eyebrow.

"It's not strange at all," Samut replied, regaining his composure.

'...But no, thank you. I need to save money first. If I can't manage living alone in Bangkok, I'll be called back to Hat Yai."

Wonchana fell silent for a moment, deep in thought...

Samut took the opportunity to finish his sandwich and cocoa. When the sound of air being sucked through the straw echoed, the petite man looked at it wistfully.

....Not much, but it's enough to satisfy my craving.

The employer, who had been quiet for a while, finally spoke, drawing Samut's attention.

"Do you want to earn some extra money?"

The man eager to earn money to woo his crush looked up at his employer with sparkling eyes... so much so that it made the observer's heart melt.

"What kind of work? Is the pay good? Where do! Do it?" Wonchana smiled at the eager little fish taking the bait. “Well, you could say it's good. It's an easy job, something you can do after work or on weekends."

"I'm interested, very," the naive man immediately jumped at the opportunity, trusting the vice president completely. After all, the man wouldn't deceive someone like him. Samut had no money or anything worth exploiting. But then Samut’s jaw dropped when Wonchana explained the details.

"Be my personal entertainer, or should I say, companion? Just someone to hang out and eat with. You only need to do it after work and on weekends. I don't have many friends who share my interests, so I often feel lonely. But I don't want to go to bars... I'll pay you 500 baht per hour, and I'll cover all other expenses... What do you say?"

The petite man was about to protest, but when he heard the pay, he clamped his mouth shut.

...What? 500 baht an hour? Four hours would be 2,000 baht. Eight hours, 4,000 baht. Two full weekend days would be nearly 10,000 baht. Four days would equal a month's salary. Plus, this kind of side job doesn't require taxes or social security contributions.

...Money can't buy me.

...Unless it's enough.

Wonchana, watching the dazed expression of the person in front of him, who kept opening and closing his mouth like a goldfish in a bowl, chuckled.

...His conscience and greed must be at war.

Finally, the greedy one found his voice and asked hesitantly, "You mean... just hanging out, right? Nothing else?"

"At this rate, it's just hanging out. If there were 'something else,' I'd pay you 50,000 baht each time." Wonchana dangled a sweet temptation in front of the stingy one.

"Cough... No, absolutely not. Even if it were 100,000 per time, I wouldn't do it," the greedy man spluttered, rejecting the offer vehemently.

...No amount of money can buy me for that.

...I'm saving my virginity for someone I love.

And that answer pleased Wonchana immensely. "So, do we have a deal?"

Samut hesitated for a moment before replying, "Can I try it out first?"

"Of course. I won't force you. Let's test it tonight. At 5 PM, wait for me at the entrance this morning. If anything comes up, just message me."

Samut nodded as the tall man stood up, leaving with his sandwich and untouched coffee in hand, looking noticeably good-humoured.

He left the new employee furrowing his brows in doubt about his own decision.
