Billionaire Biker Boy

Chapter 45 - A Subtle Way to Meddle.

On Sunday morning, Wonchana went to pick up Samut for breakfast at his house. Ranee had been up early, cooking a big pot of rice porridge. When Samut arrived, he immediately greeted her and offered to help, and the older woman gladly taught him various techniques.

"When chopping these ingredients, skill is part of it, but the knife and how you hold it are just as important. It makes the work much easier. This type of knife is called a chef's knife. Rest the tip of the knife on the cutting board like this, then lift the blade without raising the tip. For the hand holding the ingredient, curl your fingertips inward and use your knuckles to guide the blade like this. It helps you measure the distance and prevents cuts."

Ranee then demonstrated by slicing ginger with astonishing speed, producing fine, delicate shreds. Samut carefully followed her instructions, chopping the ginger with focus. Though he was slower, his technique was correct, and the result pleased Ranee.

Wonchana, who was stirring the pot of porridge, couldn't help but smile. Samut was skilled, quick to learn, and had a great memory. With the right guidance, he could do anything.

And so, the first breakfast of Christmas Day began. Ranee's porridge was different from Wonchana's, with more elaborate toppings, as she'd also prepared it for Windy. Windy's porridge included pumpkin and ivy gourd leaves, which were blended into a smooth puree.

Samut decided to try eating the porridge the way Wonchana had once suggested, starting with just the plain porridge. The little one discovered that the broth had a distinctive aroma, unlike the usual restaurant porridge.

"This is so delicious! It smells amazing," the gluttonous one exclaimed with delight.

"The secret is in the broth and how the minced pork is seasoned. Don't add too much soy sauce or other condiments. They'll overpower the natural flavours. Use salt to enhance the taste instead," Ranee explained.

"I see! Understood," Samut replied cheerfully.

"For lunch, let's eat out so we don't have to cook. Then for dinner, we'll have Luca's cooking," the head of the household announced before turning to the newest member of the family.

"What do you like to eat, O?"

"I can eat anything, really. I like trying new things," Samut replied, not wanting to be a picky guest.

But someone who wasn't proudly chimed in, "O likes sashimi and noodle dishes... Oh, and soft, fluffy desserts and cocoa."

"Wow... You really used food to woo him, didn't you?"

Varatchaya, who was feeding mashed food to Windy, teased without missing a beat. The one being teased blushed, and Samut bashfully bumped his head against Wonchana's sturdy arm.

"Why does it sound like I'm such a glutton?" the small man wondered.

The older adults all laughed affectionately at the little glutton. Wonchana then pulled out his phone and asked everyone, "I'm ordering coffee. What does everyone want?"

Everyone placed their orders. The twins said they wanted cocoa like Uncle O, so Varatchaya told her brother to order one large cup for them to share, with less sugar, as she didn't want them consuming too much.

By the time they finished their porridge, the drinks had arrived. Everyone moved to the living room, and Wonchana brought the drinks from the delivery rider into the kitchen. He poured them into insulated cups before distributing them to their respective owners. For the three hot drinks, he rinsed ceramic mugs with hot water to adjust the temperature, as drinking from ceramic felt better than paper cups.

The Sunday morning atmosphere was lively and refreshing. The older couple sat watching the news on TV, surrounded by their children and grandchildren. The daughter and son-in-law played with the kids on the carpet, while the son and his little boyfriend sat on the floor as well, huddled together over a new iPad, chatting sweetly.

Wonchana had told Samut to bring his old iPad along, so he was now transferring data from the old device to the new one with ease. And he even entered his own credit card number. He purchased additional Cloud storage and some apps that the little one frequently used, leaving Samut, who had always used free versions, wide-eyed.

"Wow! No more ads! This is amazing!"

"Next time, you can download videos and edit them on this. It should be more convenient," the generous spender suggested. He then asked for last night's video, took a screenshot of the moment he kissed the little one's cheek, and set it as his wallpaper. Not to be outdone, the one who had been kissed took a screenshot of himself kissing the older one's cheek and set it as his wallpaper in return. Samut then sat down to edit a TikTok video. Of course, there were no cheek-kissing shots.

After a while, the twins, bored with playing with their blocks, asked to ride their tricycles outside. Luca took them out, and Varatchaya carried Windy out for a walk. The grandparents followed, leaving the new couple lounging around together.

Samut scrolled through the videos on his iPad and decided to ask the person beside him for advice.

"P'Win.."

"Yes?"

"If you knew your friend's partner was cheating on them with someone else, would you tell your friend?"

Wonchana understood the situation right away. He paused for a moment before gently stroking Samut’s soft. rounded head.

"It depends on what kind of person that friend is and how close we are. If the situation isn't what it seems, or if they reconcile later, we might end up losing both the friendship and our peace of mind. Are you asking because you want to tell your friend?"

Samut showed him the iPad screen, which displayed a picture of Sirichok and Mathukorn. Wonchana froze for a moment.

..So that's why he seemed down last night.

"Yeah... I feel bad for P'Honey and the other women. Did you know the woman who owns the cake shop in the coconut grove is the same one in the picture at P'Ong's restaurant? I overheard them talking about getting married. That day, she even sent me a friend request on Facebook, but we haven't really talked yet. Honestly, I don't want to meddle in their business, but it's been bothering me. If it were me being cheated on, I'd want someone to whisper it to me rather than leaving me in the dark."

Wonchana was taken aback. He'd never thought about it from this perspective before. And the new information he'd just learned. Deep down, he didn't want Samut to get involved with that man anymore. But if he told him to stay out of it, the little one would remain uneasy. After some thought, he said, "Then we need to find a subtle way to meddle. You said you added that woman on Facebook, right?"

When the little one nodded, Wonchana asked further, "And P'Honey?"

"Added too... But Oat has two Facebook accounts. His real account added that woman, while the account that added P'Honey and me is another one he rarely uses. It's like he truly lives two lives."

Samut didn't mention Nittaya, thinking Wonchana probably hadn't noticed that day. The vice president was stunned again. He'd heard of situations like this but never thought he'd encounter one himself. He inquired further to gather more information.

"What about the person at the floating market?"

Samut turned sharply, eyes wide. "You saw them, too, P'Win?"

"Of course. I was watching you, and I recognised Oat. The woman looked familiar, too-she works at Sardina, right?"

"Yeah, she's in the same department as me, but they don't seem as close lately."

"Maybe they don't want anyone to find out. A third life, perhaps."

"That's awful," Samut said, resting his forehead on Wonchana's arm.

The one tasked with finding a subtle way to meddle sighed. "Alright, here's the plan. You don't have to tell them directly. We just need to make the people involved suspicious of each other first, then wait for them to come to you."

"How do we do that?"

"You've already posted the TikTok video, right?"

"Yes, I've posted it."

"Does it include a shot of those two?"

When the little one nodded, Wonchana asked for the iPad. He took a screenshot of the two, prepared to post it, and typed a caption. “Went to see the Christmas lights last night and just noticed from the video that I ran into some familiar faces. Too bad I didn't get to say hi."

Wonchana then had Samut tag Sirichok and Mathukorn.

"This way, if that woman sees it and recognises them, she'll start investigating on her own. The fact that she added you means she's already curious about something."

"She won't go after P'Honey, will she?" Wonchana exhaled. "Judging by her personality, I don't think so. She'd probably come to you first... But anything can happen, especially with jealousy and affairs."

Samut looked at the caption again and decided to post it.

..Whatever happens, happens.

"Make sure to hide your friend list, so Oat doesn't see who you're friends with," the strategist advised.

Samut obediently followed the instruction. Seeing the little one still look uneasy, Wonchana wrapped an arm around his shoulders and gently rubbed his upper arm. He pressed his lips to the soft, dark hair and said, "Don't worry, O. Now that you're with me, you don't have to stress about things like this. I'm not into two-timing. barely even manage to date one person."

When he saw a smile start to form on those vibrant lips, Wonchana asked for a reward.

"With me being this sweet, can I ask for more deposit?"

The delicate fingers scrolling through her social media feed paused for a moment when she noticed a new post on the Facebook page of that tiny customer. The post included a photo and a tag to a Facebook account she suspected was her boyfriend's alternate account.

Jenjira clicked on the post and zoomed in on the image. Although it showed only a partial side profile, she was certain it was her boyfriend because the shirt was the same one Sirichok had worn when he came to see her yesterday.

..Didn't he say he was going home for dinner?

..And the pretty-faced person next to him-is that a man?

...The way they're touching... There's no way they're just friends.

Jenjira clicked the TikTok link in the post. The video was a hundred times clearer than the screenshot. Her hands grew cold as she watched the moving images. Everything she saw numbed her senses.

...Oat is dating someone else? And it's a man?

Jenjira's mind drifted to the past...

Sirichok was her first love. Back then, she'd just started university, and her father and Sirichok had taken their children to a reunion party. She'd been smitten with Sirichok at first sight, but they hadn't even been introduced before the young man, whom she later learned was nearly two years younger than her, walked out of the party.

When she followed him, she found him sitting with a sulky expression in the lobby. She approached and asked to sit with him. The young man didn't refuse and even politely invited her to sit. But once seated, she didn't know what to say, so she just sat there silently.

At the time, she wasn't a slim and beautiful girl. Although her face and skin were quite nice, her slightly chubby figure made her feel less confident. But then, it was the young man who broke the silence.

‘Were you forced to come, too?'

'Ah, um, yes. My dad told me to come," she replied. When he didn't say anything further, she asked, "..You don't like parties?'

"No, I don't. They're boring. There's nothing to them."

I don't really like them either, but I couldn't say no to my dad.'

'Adults are so boring, aren't they?'

After that, they had a surprisingly pleasant conversation, discovering they shared many similar interests. As the party neared its end, they exchanged information, names, ages, phone numbers, and even LINE IDs. The young man gave her a heart-melting smile.

'Nice to meet you.'

'Yeah, nice to meet you, too.'

The young man walked away, taking Jenjira's heart with him.

Though they didn't meet again after that, they continued chatting regularly on LINE. Jenjira became a confidante and a sounding board for the young man, who often felt unloved by his family. Jenjira was a good listener, though she couldn't offer much advice. When it came time for the young man to choose a university, her heart broke when Sirichok chose to study in the far southern border region.

...The young man had lamented that maybe, if he happened to die there, his parents might be happy.

There was nothing Jenjira could do but continue to check in on him through messages.

Four years passed, and Sirichok graduated and returned to Bangkok. Everything seemed to improve. He was no longer the boy who feared his parents didn't love him. Finally, she asked to meet him, and Sirichok was stunned when he saw her.

“İs that really you, Jen? What did you do? Why are you so beautiful?'

She laughed brightly. I lost weight and took care of my skin. Growing up makes you want to look good, you

'Wow, seeing you makes me want to court you.'

‘Hahaha, do you like someone older or something?' she teased.

‘I don't care about age, looks, or body shape. As long as the personality clicks, that's enough.'

Jenjira believed him wholeheartedly. Even when she wasn't as beautiful as she was now, Sirichok had treated her well. Her full, alluring lips curved into a smile as she said, ' Then go ahead and court me.'

Not long after, they became a couple. They introduced each other to their families, and when their parents learned who their children were dating, they were delighted, even though Sirichok's family wasn't particularly wealthy. But now, not even half a year into their relationship, Sirichok was cheating on her with someone else.

...What should I do?

...How could I find out what that man is to Oat?

... if they're in a relationship, then what about me?

...Who came first, and who came later? No, that isn't the point.

...The point is, who will Oat choose?

...And if Oat is bisexual.. Will I still want him?

Countless questions swirled in her mind until a single tear fell onto her phone screen.

.. I need a backup.
