Billionaire Biker Boy
Chapter 4. I'm Not a Motorcycle Taxi Driver.
"Take it or leave it. I might be a bit stingy, but I've never cheated anyone. I've never taken advantage of honest workers," Samut said, hands on his hips, clearly annoyed.
Wonchana looked at the green banknote being waved around by the small hand and felt a strange itch in his heart.
"I don't want it... But can I ask for something else instead?"
The petite man narrowed his eyes. "I already told you, don't act like a scammer. I'm onto you."
Wonchana sighed before explaining, "My name's Win, but I'm not a motorbike taxi driver. The only reason I gave you a ride is that I work here too. Same destination, so we save on gas. Motorcyclepool, you know?"
...And maybe because someone's just too adorable.
When the Chihuahua's eyes widened in shock, Win continued, "'...Can I be friends with you? We'll probably be working together anyway. All I'm asking is to add me as a friend, and please don't delete the photo you just posted, okay?"
The honorary passenger's face turned bright red with embarrassment.
...Did I just embarrass myself again?
But oh well, since we're going to be colleagues, there's no avoiding it. Samut nodded in agreement and handed his phone to the tall man so the latter could see his Facebook profile.
Wonchana quickly pulled out his own phone and sent a friend request. A notification sound chimed. The petite man glanced down at the notification bar, which read: Win Chana has sent you a friend request.
Wow, both 'Win' and 'Chana.' If he has a sibling, would they be named 'Victory Monument?
[***In Thai, 'Chana' (Vu) means 'victory' or 'to win.]
"Accept it, tag me, and give me your LINE," the new friend demanded.
Samut sighed. This was the most complicated fare he'd ever dealt with. He tapped to accept the friend request, tagged the photo, and opened his LINE QR code. Then, with a hint of sarcasm, he asked, "Don't want my phone number, too?"
The tall man didn't miss a beat. "I do."
Once he had all the contact details, Wonchana glanced at the same green banknote in the smaller man's hand. He decided he wanted it after all. "I've changed my mind. I'll take that twenty baht... Oh, oh, don't complain just yet. This twenty baht will cover a meal I'll treat you to."
The red lips, which had been about to protest, snapped shut instantly.
...Twenty baht for a meal, huh?
Samut immediately handed over the money, with a disclaimer, "I'm not greedy, but I have to cut costs right now." Wonchana laughed as he accepted the money. He'd overheard Little Chihuahua's conversation with his family earlier. Judging by the tone, the family seemed well-off. The clothes Samut wore were mid-range but of good quality. Maybe his family was trying to teach him a lesson.
....But they mentioned chasing after a guy. Who's the guy?
The tall man stopped laughing, his sharp features darkening.
...What if I decided to chase after this little guy instead? Would I stand a chance?
"If you're free to treat me, just message me in advance," the petite man said, glancing around as people started giving them strange looks.
...What's everyone staring at?
...I'm not blocking anyone's way.
"How about tonight?" the man, eager to treat and to court, asked.
"Hmm, I guess... By the way, which department are you in? Which company? My name's Samut, nickname Ocean. I'm in the procurement department at Sardina."
...Such a cute name, just like him.
...And so salty, just like his name. His parents should've nicknamed him 'Salty' instead.
The man, whose executive aura was completely absent, smirked as he replied, I'm in the Vice President's department... of every company. My name's Wonchana Atcharangkul. Nice to meet you, Mr Samut from Sardina's procurement department."

Samut dragged his feet to the Human Resources department, his mind in disarray.
...Crap. Did I just ride on the back of the company's vice president?
...Will I even pass my probation?
Samut walked dejectedly to the HR office, which was still empty at this hour. When he finally met Rujee, the HR officer he'd been in contact with, she immediately teased him.
"Ocean, why the long face? And since when did you get so close to our vice president?"
Ocean looked up with a sheepish smile. "Just a little accident."
Rujee didn't pry further and changed the subject. "Ocean, did you eat breakfast already? There's a canteen on the second floor. The food's affordable, so feel free to check it out. Come back to me around nine, and I'll give you your employee ID and take you to your department."
Samur's eyes lit up at the mention of affordable food. Even though he had a sandwich today, he'd need a good spot to eat it. Plus, exploring the place wouldn't hurt. The petite man agreed, then asked for a notepad and pen to leave a note with the sandwich in case he didn't run into Sirichok.
He went to the accounting department but didn't see anyone he knew, so he left the sandwich and note with the department's housekeeper and messaged his close friend about it. Then he took his own sandwich down to the canteen.
The second-floor canteen was spacious and well-organised, with seven food stalls offering dishes such as curry rice, made-to-order meals, chicken rice, red pork rice, noodles, and more. There were also dessert and drink stalls.
The Atcharangkul Building housed over 10 companies under the Atcharangkul Group, all of which produced and distributed consumer goods. Samut worked for the company handling flavoured canned fish.
The petite man explored the canteen with satisfaction. The food stalls looked clean, the quality seemed decent, and the prices were friendly. He ordered a small cup of cocoa... for only twenty baht. Sitting at an empty table, he sprayed his hands with alcohol and took a sip of the cocoa.
....Not bad. Worth the price, though it can't compare to the seventy or eighty baht cocoa in Hat Yai.
Then he unwrapped his egg-and-chicken sandwich. Mmm... delicious. Comparing price to quality, it's 'wow.' No wonder it sold so well. Even the vice president bought it, and he seemed familiar with the vendor. And speak of the devil...
Wonchana, dressed in a perfectly fitted black shirt and an orange tie, walked into the canteen with a sandwich bag and a cup of coffee. After parking his bike in its usual spot, he'd removed his troublesome vest and windbreaker, storing them in his locker along with his gloves and helmet. Instead of heading straight to his office as usual, he'd gone to the franchise coffee shop on the first floor to buy a hot Americano before coming to the canteen.
As expected, he spotted the new employee happily munching on a sandwich. When the guy saw him, his eyes widened, and he looked like he was about to choke. Without hesitation, the tall man strode over to the table.
"Mind if I join you for a meal, Mr Ocean?"
