Billionaire Biker Boy

Chapter 28 - Are You a Player, P' Win?

Inside a private room of a renowned Chinese restaurant in Thonburi, the atmosphere was warm and lively. The clinking of spoons and chopsticks against plates, the waitstaff announcing dishes, and the hum of conversations filled the air. Among all the sounds, the most prominent was Suwit, the host of this meal.

"Alright, the duck's here! Anant, dig in, don't hold back!"

"Well then, I won't hold back," Anant, Sirichok's father and Suwit's high school classmate, replied as he picked up a steamed pancake and a piece of crispy duck skin to serve to his wife, Chuleepon. Everyone at the table followed suit.

"Keep it down a bit, kids. The adults need to discuss some matters," Suwit said, turning to the adjacent table where the younger generation, including Sirichok and Jenjira, were seated.

Jenjira, Suwit's second daughter and Sirichok's future fiancée, was a year older than her lover. But that was no issue, as the two got along well, and both families hoped for a harmonious union.

"So, should we arrange an engagement first? I have no objections, though I'd prefer if they just got married right away, Suwit said, addressing Anant and Chuleepon.

Anant, having just finished a bite of Peking duck, replied politely, "Our family isn't wealthy. Oat has only recently started working. I want him to save up for the bride price first, so it matches Jen's status."

"Oh, don't worry about that. I'm not selling my daughter for money. If the kids like each other, I have no problem with it. As for the ceremony, we can just borrow some money for the photos."

Kanittha, Suwit's wife and a former actress turned businesswoman, also said, "Exactly. We have no issues with the money, so don't worry."

Seeing his old friend deep in thought, Suwit prompted, "How about this? We'll take the kids' birthdates to the monk to find an auspicious date. Once we get the results, we can decide. How does that sound?"

Anant and Chuleepon exchanged glances and nodded.

"That sounds good," Chuleepon agreed. If Sirichok could settle down, she and her husband would feel relieved. Among their four children, Sirichok was the one she worried about the most. But now, with a stable job and a family on the horizon, it was something to be happy about.

As the meal progressed to dessert, Suwit excused himself to the restroom, with Sirichok following behind. Once they ensured no one else was around, the older man turned to his future son-in-law and asked, "So, is everything okay on their end?"

"They're asking for two hundred thousand per order," Sirichok replied.

"That's too much. We've already negotiated the price down significantly. The profit margin isn't that high. Try to get them down to one hundred thousand."

"Alright, then I'll let you know the result on Tuesday," Sirichok said.

"Can't you call them now?" Suwit asked impatiently.

"I don't want to leave any evidence that could trace back to us, just in case they're recording the call."

"Fine, I'll leave it to you," Suwit said, patting Sirichok's shoulder before heading into the restroom.

The young man smirked coldly as he watched his future father-in-law walk away.

...How can I let him know that I'm the one who asked for that price?

The following morning, Wonchana arrived at Samut’s condo, dressed in his Ducati outfit and carrying two food containers. The young man took the elevator to the twenty-first floor and scanned his fingerprint to enter the room. Samut had added Wonchana's fingerprint to the system the day before because he was too lazy to get up and open the door himself.

Samut, wearing a red plaid shirt and faded jeans, came cheerfully down from the upper floor, holding a similar but larger shirt. When he saw Wonchana taking off his riding jacket, he asked, "Oh, you rode your bike today?"

"That's right. It's a public holiday today. Even though traffic isn't bad, parking at tourist spots is hard to find. A bike's more convenient."

Samut nodded and handed over the shirt. He had no problem riding a motorbike, except for one thing...

...the embarrassment of having to hug the waist of the man in front of him.

Wonchana took the matching shirt and put it on over his thin white t-shirt before saying, "Let's have breakfast. I made open-faced sandwiches today."

The two of them sat at the bar counter. When Samut opened the container with its four-sided lock, he saw thick slices of butter-toasted bread topped with two layers of thick ham and two poached eggs, smothered in a bright yellow sauce. On the side were salad greens, tomatoes, and sliced avocado, all arranged beautifully.

"Wow, P'Win, you're amazing."

Wonchana laughed, grabbing plates, forks, and knives to transfer the food from the container onto them.

"It's nothing. This is a simple dish. Honestly, it would've tasted better fresh. But I made it at my parents' house because they have someone to clean up the kitchen for me, so I wouldn't waste time," Wonchana explained.

As Samut poured two glasses of water, he asked, "Do you cook for yourself often?"

"Mostly on my days off, but not that often. My mom usually calls me over to eat at the main house. On workdays, I don't want to waste time, so I just buy food, depending on what I feel like eating that day," Wonchana said, before adding with a playful tone, "But ever since I had someone to share meals with, I feel like showing off my skills. I want to cook for my special someone every day."

Luckily, Samut was placing the glasses down at that moment. Otherwise, they might've slipped from his hands, weakened by the amorous comment. Little Chihuahua raised a hand to clutch his chest.

"Why are you so good at flirting? Are you a player or something?"

The accused one quickly raised both hands in surrender.

"I'm not a player. I've never made a move on anyone like this before. You're the first."

Seeing the smaller man still frowning, Wonchana changed the subject right away.

"..Let's eat quickly. I'll take you for some cocoa later." Samut climbed onto the chair and ate neatly. After swallowing the first bite, the foodie began his critique, "The sauce smells amazing. It pairs so well with the eggs, but it's a bit oily."

"That's because it's made from butter and egg yolks. If you eat too much, it can get overwhelming. It's called hollandaise sauce. The dish is actually eggs Benedict, but the traditional recipe uses English muffins. I don't really like their texture, so l adapted it like this."

"I like it this way. I don't usually eat Western food. When I go out to eat with Mom and my brother, the fanciest we get is a Japanese restaurant in the mall. I feel bad for Mom because she's a picky eater and doesn't eat sashimi. But she lets me choose, so we end up ordering grilled saba or pork cutlet rice. Later, started picking other places, but there aren't many she can eat at. At least my brother sneaks me out for sashimi and takes me to try unique foods often," Samut said, almost letting slip that... he often went with Oat too.

"Your mom and brother sound lovely. But you don't seem to be starving. Why are you so small, then? I remember P'Sea isn't small at all."

The small one scrunched his nose. "I don't know. Mom only gave me this much." Wonchana laughed.

...It's better this way. A pocket-sized pup is much easier to carry around.

After finishing breakfast, the two cleaned up together. Then Wonchana took a small camera and a Bluetooth headset from his backpack and attached them to Samut’s helmet.

"Wow, that's so cool," the smaller man said, watching the setup with interest.

"Now you won't have to open the shield and shout to talk to me," Wonchana explained, detailing how to use it.

When they went down to the condo's parking lot, Samut saw that the beautiful Ducati had a new addition. Today, the biker had attached a large ABS plastic box to the rear rack for storage. And to give Samut a backrest for a more comfortable ride.

"Whoa, this is awesome. It can hold a lot of stuff too," Samut said.

"Exactly. And you can lean back on it, too. There's actually an option to add two side cases. I use them for long trips out of town. They can hold a lot of clothes and stuff...

We'll go on a trip together someday, okay?"

Out of nowhere, the bike owner invited him on a trip. The travel enthusiast immediately agreed without a second thought.

"Sure, let's go. Besides Hat Yai and Bangkok, I haven't been to any other provinces... Oh, but my brother once took me to Malaysia. He had a business meeting, but I didn't get to explore much. Just a change of scenery and some unique food."

Wonchana smiled, having picked up on another thing the person in front of him liked. Then he took the cocoa lover to a fancy coffee shop not far from the condo. "The café I wanted to take you to isn't open yet. Let's have something here for now. We'll go to the other one this afternoon."

Samut nodded and followed Wonchana into the shop. But when he saw the price of the iced chocolate, the stingy man widened his eyes.

...A small cup is 135 baht. A large cup is 165 baht.

...And yesterday, P'Win ordered a large cup from this very brand.

"O, was yesterday's drink not sweet enough?" Wonchana asked.

"It was just right. Why?"

"Well, yesterday I ordered it without any extra syrup because the chocolate powder they use here is already slightly sweet since it's not pure cocoa powder."

"I'll have it the same as yesterday... and a small cup is fine," Samut replied.

As Wonchana placed an order with the staff, the owner of the big, round eyes glanced at the nearby promotional signs and asked, "Is the mobile promotion still available?"

"It's just the beginning of the month, so it should still be valid. You can try sending an SMS to the number provided." Samut then asked Wonchana which mobile carrier he used. After getting the answer, he picked up the promotional sign for that carrier, read the details, and instructed the big guy, who had plenty of credit points but had never used them, to redeem them for a discount. This earned them a 40-baht discount per cup, making Wonchana smile at the frugality of the person in front of him.

After scanning to pay, Wonchana asked, "Do you want to get their reusable cup? If you bring it next time, you'll get a 10-baht discount per purchase."

The discount lover's eyes lit up, but when Samut walked over to look at the various cups displayed on the shelf, he couldn't help but complain when he saw the prices. "Wow, these cups cost over a thousand baht. It'd take a hundred purchases to break even, and we don't even drink from this brand every day."

As his small hand was about to put one cup back and pick up another, he froze when he saw a stainless steel thermal cup with a Chihuahua design. Samut stared at it for a while before deciding not to touch it. But then, a large hand from behind grabbed the cup.

"You can use it at other shops too, even the one in your building. They offer discounts for bringing your own cup... and it's good for the environment," Wonchana teased with a jolly tone.

Whether it was the Chihuahua design or the mention of saving the planet, Samut shyly nodded. Wonchana then picked out a tall double-wall ceramic cup from the same collection for hot drinks. Since they'd already paid for the drinks, Samut mumbled regretfully about not bringing a cup for the discount.

"Amw. We couldn't use the discount this time."

"Come on, you already got me a 40-baht discount per cup. And these cups can be used for discounts at your building tomorrow," Wonchana consoled, adding, "Go find a seat and save us a spot." I'll wait for the drinks."

Samut nodded obediently and went to find an empty table by the window. When Wonchana brought over the drinks, the smaller man quickly helped carry them. But then, the excited one asked when he didn't see the cups they'd bought,

"Where are the cups?"

"I left them with the staff for now. I come here often, so we're familiar. We're going to be out and about for a while, and there won't be enough space to carry them."

Samut nodded, then took a happy sip through the straw.

The sight of the two men in matching bright red shirts, chatting and teasing each other cheerfully, caught the attention of passersby. After finishing their drinks, the tall man had his Little Chihuahua hop on the back of his bike, and they headed to Thonburi to visit a floating market that Wonchana had previously explored with his biker group.

Upon arrival, Samut was wide-eyed with excitement at the variety of food and goods available. But what caught his attention the most was an art shop where visitors could sit and paint. They offered both framed canvases and white jars with various designs.

Samut grabbed a jar with a cute, innocent-looking dog design and quickly paid for it himself. Then he dragged the taller man to a small table equipped with a palette and orange plastic squeeze bottles of paint. Wonchana followed him willingly, smiling as he watched the smaller man paint with great focus.

After a while, a cheeky little girl painting a princess nearby called out, "Hey, mister, what kind of dog is bright red like that? Haha!"

Samut glared at the girl and boasted, You don't know anything. This is a superhero dog. Of course, it has to wear a red suit."

"That suit looks like Spider-Man's, don't ya think?" the girl said.

"This is a new hero. You know?"

"I don't know. I've never seen or heard of it."

"That's because it hasn't been shown anywhere yet."

"If it hasn't been shown, how do you know about it?"

"I know because I'm smart."

The sight of the small guy bantering with the little girl, while the tall man in matching shirts and shoes sat smiling, brought smiles to passersby. One person who happened to see them quickly grabbed their companion's arm and led them away.

...Didn't he say he was sick?

...Bangkok is so vast. How did we end up running into each other again?
