Lately, It's Winter Season.
Chapter 52 -Epilogue: He Who Owns Every Smile
Six months of internship flew by. After that, we were busy with our graduation project, and needless to say, it was incredibly demanding. The whole team worked nonstop for a long time, but we finally completed it. Tiger and I decided to go home immediately. I really wanted to go back to my mother and Nuea.
After graduating, Nuea went home even faster than me. He said he would find a job in Thailand, but for Nuea, it wasn't too difficult. As for me, I'm still not very sure about my career. I'm still pursuing game livestreaming, and honestly, the income from it is enough to make it my main profession.
However, after my internship at Johan's company, I also want to work there. Maybe I'll try to do both at once, like being an engineer during the day and livestreaming games at night. And Tiger can finally fully dedicate himself to his work.
I sat in the car, gazing at the familiar scenery of Chiang Mai. The restaurants I used to frequent, the cafes where I used to sit and read… all flashed past the window as the car headed towards the airport, taking me back home. So much had happened in the past four years, a time full of memories, a place that had helped me grow so much.
"I'm going to miss this place a lot," I exclaimed.
"Yes, let's come back for a trip later, okay?"
"Hmm." I smiled, nodded, and felt an indescribable sense of disappointment. I opened my phone and scrolled through the photos I'd taken before leaving. It was a group photo in front of the university gate. We'd taken one there on our first day, so how could we not take one at graduation?
"Has it really been four years? It feels like I only recently arrived in Chiang Mai."
"Yes, sometimes when you look back, time flies by unexpectedly fast."

We arrived at the airport and waited only a short while before boarding. When the plane landed again, we both rushed out, looking for Mom and Nuea. As soon as I saw them waiting, I ran to hug Mom tightly.
"Mom, I'm home!"
"Welcome home, my darling!" My mother hugged me tightly.
I hugged my mother for a moment, then let go and turned to hug Nuea.
"I'm home, Nuea."
"Welcome home," Nuea patted my back gently. "Congratulations, you've finally graduated! To me, you're the best in the world!"
"Congratulations to you, too, Nuea. You're the best in the world!" I replied with a laugh.
I glanced to the side and saw my mother holding Tiger.
"Welcome home, son."
"Yes, I'm home," Tiger replied softly, letting go of his mother. He and Nuea also congratulated each other on their graduation. We just chatted for a while before going home together.
"Today is a day to celebrate!" Mom said happily, "Congratulations on your graduation. I'm so proud of you both. My two little ones have really grown up!"
"I'll always be your child, Mom," I laughed. "I'm not planning on getting a job; I'm planning to continue living off you."
My mother gently tapped my forehead.
"Okay, but you have to share your pocket money with those 'egg-eating' kids at Mom's house. I need to be more frugal."
"Huh?" I pouted, looking at the three dogs sprawled on the floor. "It's only been four years, and we've already lost our 'favourite' title? No way! We have to win it back!"
After saying that, I rushed over and tickled each of them in the stomach.
"Shall we have hot pot and barbecue tonight?" Mom asked, "Or do you want to go out to eat?"
"I want to eat the marinated meat that Mom makes!" I replied.
"Okay, then Mom's going to the market to buy groceries. Nuea, will you come with Mom?"
"What about you and Tiger?"
"You two have just arrived, so go rest."
"Yes."
So Mom and Nuea went to the market, while Tiger and I decided to go for a walk around our old school. It had been a long time since we'd visited, and we wondered how much the school had changed. By then, the students had finished class, and the school gate was open, so we easily went inside.
Walking past the large football field in front of the school, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic. In the past, I always practised here every afternoon.
"This is where we first met, right?"
"Yeah," Tiger nodded, taking out his phone, "I still have a photo of us together taken here."
"Where?" I peeked. It was a photo of the two of us in our high school uniforms, standing side by side on the soccer field. "Wow, I completely forgot about that. Why didn't I post it on Instagram back then?"
"I think we'll come back here and take another picture after we graduate."
"Ah... It's like the same place, the same people, only the time has changed, right?"
"Yeah, take the picture again, from the same angle," Tiger chuckled.
"Okay."
After taking the photo, Tiger made some minor edits before posting it on Instagram. Immediately, my phone vibrated with a notification. I opened it and involuntarily smiled.
We strolled around the campus, stopping by familiar places like the waiting area, the cafeteria, and the benches under the trees. Some places looked different from before because the school had been renovated. It's safe to say that the place has developed a great deal since we graduated.
"This walkway is now covered," I said.
"The floor has been repaved, too. So many people used to trip and fall here all the time."
After a tour around the school, we left.
"Is there anywhere else you want to go?" Tiger asked.
"Well... there's no particular place I'd like to go."
"So, will you come with me to a place?"
"Okay." I agreed without much thought and climbed onto Tiger's motorbike. As soon as I saw the direction, I knew exactly where we were going—our familiar bridge.
Initially, this was Tiger's go-to place whenever he was feeling down or didn't know where to go. Later, I met him here by chance while buying snacks at the night market. That time, Tiger took me for a walk and introduced me to this place. Since then, we've visited so often that it's gradually become a private spot just for the two of us.
"As usual, nobody's here," I said as I got out of the car and sat down on the grass.
At this moment, the sky is tinged with brilliant orange as the sun sets, and the sunset light reflecting on the river creates a breathtaking scene. Tiger sat down next to me and suddenly said, "You once asked me if I had brought my girlfriend here, but since we became a couple, I've never brought you here."
"That's right, every time I come back, I just stay home." I continued, my gaze fixed on the river. "I miss the old days, whenever something upset happened, we'd come here, and whenever we wanted to relax, we'd come here too... this place felt like it belonged just to the two of us."
"Duen Nao…"
"Huh?" I turned to look at him.
Unexpectedly, I saw Tiger bowing his head and covering his face with his hands. After a moment, I heard soft sobs.
"Ger? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" I quickly moved closer and hugged him to comfort him.
"Hic... I love you so much..." Tiger said, his voice breaking as he cried.
"Um, I love you too. Is something wrong?"
"No... nothing... it's just... *sobs*... I just started crying for no reason..."
"Huh?" I still didn't understand, but I continued patting his back to reassure him, "It's okay, I'm here."
"Sob sob..."
"Oh dear?" The more they tried to comfort him, the louder Tiger cried.
"Ger, tell me, what's wrong with you?"
“I… *sobs*… I’m okay…” Tiger stammered, crying, “But… *sobs*…”
"But why?"
"I love you... *sobs*..."
"So much love that you're crying?"
"You... *sobs*... will you marry me?"
“…”
I was speechless for a moment, then I saw Tiger take out a ring box.
"Thank you for being here. You are my whole world. Since you came into my life, I've been so much happier... *sobs*... I..."
"Calm down," I quickly patted his back. "Just take your time, it's okay, I'm listening."
"I prepared so much… but… *sobs*… suddenly I… *sobs*…"
"Okay." I pulled him into my arms, smiling softly, "No need to say anything more. I agree. I'll marry you."
"Really?"
"Really? You mean everything to me, too. Let's walk this path together, shall we?"
“Sob… sob… Um! I… I will protect and take care of you for the rest of my life!” Tiger burst into tears again.
"Oh dear, why are you crying even more than usual?"
"Because I'm so happy..."
"Okay, okay, come on, come on..." I continued to hug him and comfort him.
It took Tiger a while to stop crying before he slipped the ring onto my ring finger. I looked down at my hand and unconsciously smiled happily.
